Our Journey

 

 My son Rafferty was born with Bilateral Talipes or Clubfoot in August 2015.  Like many parents, the uncertainty of not knowing what to expect and how it would change your life, (for the better i hasten to add), leads you to look for ways to make a positive impact on your little ones life.

So after months of plaster casts, (which can be tough for all) I wanted to make the boots and bar something Raffi would really enjoy.  So in 2015 I started making my Original Talipes Boots and Bar Funky Snowboard Bar Covers, (all Bar Covers can be personalised and made reversible) as I couldn't find anywhere already making them in the UK. A few months later various people suggested making these for other children too. So here I am & My Raffi is now a lively nearly 10yr old and he Just LOVES his Funky Snowboard, even though he's now stopped wearing his now.

It's also worthy of note & you may have already found out that, (ouch!) the bar can really hurt!  And as for the furniture...well this certainly lessons the blow.

I have also written two books, My Funky Snowboard Journey - A positive bedtime rhyming story & keepsake in a boys version & girls version.

I am always coming up with additional Clubfoot related items, and always happy for suggestions.

I also created a FB support group - now with over 1.4k members, to help other parents and caregivers on their journey.
